Request a foundation evaluation
Call if something changed quickly, like a crack that opened this week or a door that suddenly won't close. Otherwise, send a request and a local foundation contractor will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address and town, so the request goes to a contractor that serves it
- Whether the house is on a slab or has a crawl space, if you know
- What you're noticing: cracks, sticking doors, sloping floors, water under the house
- When it started, and whether it changes with wet or dry weather
- Any past foundation work, pier logs, warranties or inspection reports
Start a simple log. Note which doors stick, where cracks are, and whether things got worse after a dry spell or a wet one. It helps the contractor read how the house is moving.
